USPS Liteblue – What can I use it for?

Liteblue is the online portal for all United States Postal Service employees. The portal was created to grant exclusive access for USPS staff to the company’s private online intranet network. Using this service, all USPS employees can view a range of employment-related information.

This includes everything from the ability to track your career development, to keeping up to date with the latest company news and announcements. Other functions available to staff through the Liteblue portal include viewing your current benefit plans and insurance status, see upcoming work schedules, bidding for assignments/routes, tracking your company pension and retirement plan, and leaving feedback.

What do I need to have to log into my employee account?

There are two pieces of information you need to have to access the USPS Liteblue login page:

Your USPS employee ID number. This is an eight-digit number assigned to all USPS staff. You can find the number in your earnings statement, located right above your Employee ID.
Your USPS Self Service Profile Password, also known as SSP. This password will grant you accself-serviceompany’s self service web-based applications.

How do I log in to my Liteblue USPS account?

First, you will need to navigate to the portal’s homepage. This can be found by typing liteblue usps gov in your browser.
Next, scroll down the screen until you see the log in sehalfwayhis is located approximately half-way down the page. You will recognise it because it has two fields where you can input the data you need to log in: ‘Employee ID’ and ‘USPS Password’, which is your SSP password. Enter these details.
Once you have entered the required information, click on ‘Log On’ and you will be taken to your employee profile page.

How do I Reset a Forgotten LiteBlue Password?

If this is your first time using an USPS online portal, you will need to set up your password. To do that, navigate to and follow the prompts to create a password. This page also allows you reset your password if you have forgotten it.

If you have forgotten your SSP password, clicking on ‘Forgot your Password?’, and following the prompts. Because a password gives access to personal information, you will need to verify your identity by providing your eight-digit Employee ID or EIN number. After typing in your Employee ID, click on ‘Verify Employee ID’ and follow the instructions.

I am a new employee and I’ve just received my temporary SSP password. What do I do next?

When you join USPS, you will receive a letter that contains a temporary SSP password. Please note that this password is only valid to access the Self Service Profile website.
Once you have your temporary password, you will need to create a new permanent password. The temporary USPS SSP password cannot be used to log in to the HR Self Service service and applications. You must change the temporary SSP password to a permanent password.
To do so, do the following:
Click on the “Enter SSP button”. The Self-Service Profile Login screen will show.
Enter your Employee Identification Number (EIN) (you can find the Employee Identification Number EIN printed at the top of your income statement. Enter all 8 digits, even if the first digit is a zero.
Enter your temporary Self-Service Password (Your temporary SSP password will be printed in the top right-hand corner of the welcome letter.
On the next screen, change your temporary password by typing a New Password and then Confirm your Password.

If you are having problems logging into your employee online account, you may want to double check that you have typed in the correct information. Verify that your Employee ID contains eight numbers, and that your SSP password is no shorter than 8 characters and no longer than 16 characters long.

You should also bear in mind that SSP passwords must meet the following requirements:

At least one number from 0 to 9.
At least one letter from a to z (in lower case).
At least one letter from A to Z (in upper case).
Special characters are also allowed, but only the following: ! @ $ % ^ * _ + ~
Spelling errors could also be causing log in problems. If you are still unable to log in, make sure that you are typing in your Employee ID and password in the correct case. These fields are case-sensitive, so make sure that CAPS LOCK and NUM LOCK are not on.

Also, double check that you are typing in the correct password. USPS employees are issued with SSP passwords, ACE passwords, and PIN numbers. Only SSP passwords are valid to access Liteblue web services.

If everything else fails, you may want to try to log in using a different browser. This may be especially useful if you are using browsers like Opera or Firefox, which are known to have some compatibility issues with this online portal. Sometimes, switching to Internet Explorer or Google Chrome will solve your log in issues. You may also want to make sure that your are using the latest version of your chosen browser.

Although there isn’t a dedicated app to access the USPS employee portal, you can log in using mobile devices simply by using your mobile web browser. You should be able to access your employee account on tablets and cell phones too, as long as your browser is up to date.
